The Birchwood Centre is an amazing independent charity working with young people between the ages of 13 - 25. Providing supported accommodation for up to 24 months, alongside mediation, counselling and where required training to help these young people achieve their potential. When they are ready Birchwood provides move on support to help them move, make and sustain their own homes.
In addition to this Birchwood provides intervention activities in the community to help prevent homelessness in the first instance where young people are living in vulnerable situations.
Who we are looking for
Birchwood are looking to employ an Emotional Health and Wellbeing Move on Worker, you will support service users to move on from supported, unsafe or temporary accommodation, to live independently in sustainable tenancies in the wider community.
Working with both younger and older people,some who may have low level mental health needs, you will deliver support and information, respond to emotional and practical needs and use your professional skills to liaise with key agencies.
You will use your experience of working with people with complex needs in a housing and youth or adult context to encourage and sustain independent living. You will help them succeed in a range of social and financial contexts, improving their emotional health and wellbeing.
