Background

The retailTRUST’s heritage stretches back to 1832, when it was known as the Linen and Woollen Drapers Institute, and was set up by retailers to support their staff. Nowadays they look after the needs of the 3.3 million people involved in retail by offering help financially, emotionally and vocationally and support in times of need and crisis.

Their heritage and length of service gives them a unique perspective to provide help and support for the retail sector through:

  • cottageHOMES for those who worked in retail,
  • retailHUB that provides financial, emotional and physical wellbeing support to the diverse community of over 4.5 million people employed in retail and related industries, and
  • retailRIGHT to develop individuals and promote retail as a rewarding career through educational and development initiatives.

It’s an exciting time for the charity - their retailRIGHT programme, which helps people of all ages realise their potential through work placements and skills development in the retail industry, is growing fast.

Main Purpose of the post

In this brand new role of Vocational Relationship Manager you will be working within the retailRIGHT team to lead and develop the programme in the South of England.

You will oversee all aspects of the pre-employability programmes working in partnership with Training Providers and Key Employers such as Matalan, House of Fraser and Warehouse, all supporters of retailRIGHT’s Traineeships.

You will develop long term relationships with those individuals that have benefited from either the Traineeships and/or pre-employability programmes, encouraging them to take part in volunteering or fundraising activities.

Who we are looking for

Knowledge in pre-employability programmes is desirable but experience in account management, and proven success in building client relationships is essential - ideally developed in the voluntary or education sector.

You will be a confident, target-driven, self-starter, keen to apply your relationship skills to maintain and grow the retailTRUST’s national programmes as part of this dynamic and fast-growing team.

You will benefit from the opportunity to creatively develop this new role whilst taking full advantage of an environment where personal development is high on the agenda - and you even get your birthday off!
