In 2015 Alder Hey in the Park opened to the public. The new hospital sits in the centre of the extensive green space created for the benefit of patients and staff and the people of Merseyside.
Each year the hospital cares for over 270,000 children, young people and their families. They treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions. Doctors and Researchers at Alder Hey in the Park are not satisfied with treating children using today’s medicines and technology, they want to find the very best treatments they can. They are working to develop the next generation of medicines and interventions that are even more effective, and safer.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity has raised over £22 million to support Alder Hey in the Park, funding life-saving medical equipment, research and vital facilities. The Charity helped to raise funds to build the fantastic new hospital bringing together health professionals, researchers and educators with the aim of improving children’s health regionally, nationally and internationally.
They are now focusing on fundraising for a new research, innovation and education centre to be based in the Park. The Charity is also raising funds to support the pioneering food on demand service and the digital enhancements to help reduce patient’s anxiety and distract them from their illnesses.
As Head of Corporate Partnerships, you will lead on the development and implementation of a growth strategy for generating income from corporate partners. Currently this income is over £1 million but Alder Hey Children’s Charity is looking to increase this over the coming years to help contribute to the £6 million target needed to deliver the second phase build of the Institute in the Park.
Working closely with the Chief Executive, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining strong and positive relationships with corporate partners ensuring a good outcome for the income of the Charity in the long term. Current corporate partners include Matalan, Sony Europe Limited, Liverpool and Everton football clubs who have all donated money and time to help fund special and innovative projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience of overseeing corporate partnerships at a senior level and have proven success in developing and managing strong personal relationships with clients, supporters and donors. You will most likely be an experienced corporate fundraiser, but people with strong transferrable skills will be considered. You will combine a strategic approach, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take a hands-on approach when required.
Above all you must want to use your passion and professionalism to make a difference to the lives of children.
