Background:

Henshaws supports individuals living with sight loss and other disabilities across the North of England. They help people gain independence and live life to the fullest, something we often take for granted.

Their aim is to give support, advice and training to enable people and their families to build skills, develop confidence, help one another and look towards a more positive future.

With major plans to take the charity on to a new digital platform that will enable Henshaws’ services to be accessible nationwide, it’s an exciting time to join the Fundraising team.

With projects lined up for the coming year including the new Sensory Garden and the development of the Specialist Harrogate College, Henshaws is recruiting for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to maintain and develop this rapidly growing income stream.

Main Purpose of the role:

  • You will develop and implement strategic plans and budgets for the Trusts and Grants income stream to maximise income and other support complementing the fundraising strategy.

  • You will lead on all major funding applications for a rich range of projects including: Vocational workshops at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre in Knaresborough, development of Henshaws Specialist College in Harrogate, development of Housing & Support Services, projects that support people with visual impairments in the North West and North East including a new Skillstep offer, as well as Sensory Gardens appeal.

  • You will work closely with the Director of Fundraising to monitor progress against strategic plans, budgets and other agreed KPIs.

  • You will manage and mentor the Trusts and Grants Fundraiser.

Who we are looking for:

  • An experienced Trusts and Grants Manager with proven success of securing 5 - 6 figure funding from trusts, foundations, lottery and statutory sources.

  • An excellent written communicator who is also able to build strong relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally.

  • Proven management and leaderships skills, with an ability to motivate others.

As Trusts and Grants Manager you will have the option to work full or part time on this 12 month fixed term contract that will give you the opportunity to make a direct impact on this inspiring charity. The role is based in Old Trafford, Manchester but the charity will consider candidates wishing to work from the Liverpool or Harrogate offices.
